Mini-Message Monday: The Church’s Great Need

I recall vividly, when my father was about the age I am now, that he said to me, “Do you know one of the great shocks of advancing age? The day it dawns on us what Elijah discovered: ‘I am no better than my fathers!’” We all suffer from generational pride, thinking somehow that we are more gracious, more thoughtful, more intelligent, than the previous generation. Give it some time, and you’ll discover that, without Christ full in our vision, we’re the same needy creatures, warped and damaged like the generations before. We may have different biases and blind spots, but without being changed by spending time with Heaven’s lovely Man, our lopsidedness will illicit the same response from the next gen. Let’s look at Him!
