MMM: A Happy Father’s Day!

It can be rightly called the best Father-Son story in all of literature. Its story-teller is the consummate Son. Its theme is the Father’s love. Its point? Not only that this Father receives prodigals who come home stinking of the pigs, but He also receives Pharisees who think they’re already home, but are in fact outside in the dark. They’re so close they can hear the music and joy of the celebration, but are angry that prodigals are treated that way. Thankfully the Father comes out to plead with them to join the party, too. They will have to come through the same door as the younger brother, but Jesus welcomes all to the gospel supper.
