It’s easy to view our service as an inconvenience. Paul saw service as the norm. After all, Christ poured Himself out for us and, as Paul wrote, we are to have the “same mind” as Christ. So the next time an opportunity arises to help in a way or at a time that doesn’t necessarily suit us, let’s turn our “poor me” attitude into a “pour me” prayer: “Lord, pour me out in order to fill someone’s heart with joy.”
