Through-the-Bible Thursday: GALATIANS (3.5 mins) — When you begin this epistle, it’s like you’re reading about a multi-car pileup! They sound like distracted drivers on slippery roads with dangers everywhere. Note the phrases: “you are turning away so soon from Him who called you”; “there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel”; “false brethren secretly brought in (who came in by stealth to spy out our liberty)”; “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you?”; and so on. Warning! Warning! And we still need these warnings today. Truth without grace leads to legalism; grace without truth leads to license. The gospel of God’s grace does not make me think little of sin, but it does make me think much of Christ. Preach it, Paul! We need this!
