Through-the-Bible Thursday: PHILEMON (4.5 mins) — It’s just the size of one piece of parchment. Written by Paul, a once proud man melted by the love of the glorified Jesus, it is addressed to Philemon. His name has been translated as “affectionate” but it is an extension of the Greek word for a kiss. There are many significant kisses in Scripture, a subject worthy of study. But none is more poignant that these verbal equivalents of the manly expression of true brotherly love recorded in this little letter.
