When Christians die, their brains go in the box with their body. Yet they, at that moment, are consciously, thinkingly, joyously experiencing heaven. Absent from the body (including the brain), but present with the Lord. When Paul says we have “the mind of Christ,” is he hinting at the amazing phenomenon observed when a believer with dementia—who may not know their own child—still remembers the scriptures and hymns learned years ago?
