When Jesus spoke about those who would enjoy His hospitality in the Kingdom of God, He told a story about another dinner and the excuses made by those invited. They were all silly reasons—like a man who couldn’t come because he had to inspect some land he had already bought. None of those who made excuses ended up at the banquet. The lesson should be obvious: God takes people’s excuses seriously even when those excuses don’t take God’s offer of salvation seriously. Yes, God gives you the final choice.
