Through-the-Bible Thursday: ROMANS (Pt 1, 4 mins) — The Epistle to the Romans has been called “the Gospel according to Paul” and “the letter that changed the world.” Melanchthon called it, “the compendium of Christian doctrine.” Luther said its truth is the “gateway into heaven.” Samuel Coleridge declared it “the most profound work in existence.” Untold thousands have been reading Romans when the light of God’s salvation broke into their dark souls. Here we find the depth of humanity’s need, the width of God’s all-encompassing love, the length to which Christ went to set us free, and the heights of His glorious plan that lifts us up to God.
